MoRENet signs Memorandum of Understanding with ISPSongo
MoRENet signed a memorandum of understanding with the Polytechnic Institute of Songo to offer its services. The Signature of this Memorandum was held at the premises of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Higher Education and Professional Technician (MCTESTP), on January 18, 2019. The participants of this signing were Prof. Dr. Lourino Chemane, Executive Director of MoRENet and Prof. Doctor Francisco Vieira, General Director of ISPSongo.
The signing of this memorandum was aimed at hiring additional services in addition to the connectivity service. MoRENet will provide access to high performance computing infrastructure, hosting of services and / or applications, email service, access to digital libraries, these and other services that MoRENet has made available to its members.
As part of the signing of the memorandum, Prof. Dr. Francisco Vieira expressed his deep interest in the use of high performance computing services mainly for teachers and master’s students as well as researchers who, after finishing their training, present difficulties to continue their research for lack of resources of this nature.

ISPSongo is a public higher education institution established in 2008, located in the province of Tete. The courses of Electrical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, and Engineering Technical term are some of the courses mixed at the Polytechnic Institute of Songo.
MoRENet is a nationwide data communication network that connects academic institutions to higher education, research and technical and vocational education, and proposes to use Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of research, reduce the gap between researchers, teachers, students and other academics and bring scientific institutions closer to the citizen and the private sector.
With this milestone, MoRENet takes steps to reach the goals proposed for the academy and hopes to achieve in 2019 more institutions in the country linked to its network.
