School at home? The technology your child will need

The second period of classes was abruptly interrupted by the Coronavirus and everything indicates that the third period of the school has to be remotely. The technology that is within our reach today will allow it, however, it is necessary to start preparing the classroom at home.

To help you, we've selected some gadgets and peripherals that will be essential in general. It is necessary to consider that the needs will vary depending on the school year attended.

Tablets

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2019 Wi-Fi

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A is available in 8 ″ and 10.1 ″ (Wi-Fi or 4G) versions. The 8 ″ model comes with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage and has a 5100 mAh battery. In addition, it offers an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera.

It also comes with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and a 3.5mm audio jack. The price of this version is around 170 €.

Surface Go

Surface Go is a more affordable option from Microsoft's Surface line. In addition, the company maintains its offer of special prices for the school, namely for students, parents and teachers.

It has a 10 ″ screen and can be purchased in versions of 4 GB + 64 GB Wi-Fi, 8 GB + 128 GB Wi-Fi or 4G. The autonomy can reach 9 hours of use. The front camera is 5 MP, allowing video calling on Skype at 1080p, and the rear camera is 8 MP.

Tablet Alcatel 1T

This is another option that is also quite accessible, with an integrated keyboard. It has a 10.1 ″ screen and offers a 4000 mAh battery. It must be taken into account that it has only 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. Depending on the teaching requirements, it may not be enough.

Computadores Portáteis

Lenovo IdeaPad C340

In the field of notebook computers, the first suggestion goes to Lenovo's IdeaPad C340. This computer offers a 14 inch FullHD screen, 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Its processor is a 10th generation Intel Core i3-10110U.

The screen is tactile and the keyboard can be folded back so that it can also be used as a tablet. In addition, there is also a digital pen.

Huawei MateBook D 14

Huawei also offers some notebook computers in its product range and MateBook D 14 could be a good option for home school. It has a 14 inch screen, with very small margins and a fingerprint sensor.

When purchasing, you can choose a model with 10th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and 8 or 16 GB of RAM. Internal storage is available 256 GB or 512 GB SSD. It comes with Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi ac, has 3 USB ports, one of which is USB Type-C, HDMI and 3.5mm audio jack.

ASUS ZenBook 14

It has 14 inches of screen and as connection interfaces it has three USB ports, one of which is USB Type-C, an HDMI port, MicroSD card reader and audio jack.

Printers

HP DeskJet 3639 Multifunction Printer

Many families now find themselves receiving homework for their children by e-mail, but without a printer to print them. An option that costs around 60 € is an HP all-in-one with Wi-Fi. So, without having to connect the PC to the printer, you can have it printed directly from your smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Other accessories

WH-CH510 wireless headphones

To attend classes and be able to interact without being disturbed or disturbing other people in the house, the ideal is to have headphones. These Sony have no wires, so they can be connected via Bluetooth to any device, have great autonomy and are still quite accessible. 40 €.

Hama Basic4Phone wired headset

It is evident that there are even more affordable options that end up fulfilling the same purpose, as is the case of these Hama Basic4Phone phones that cost € 10.

Hotspot 4G

It is true that there are more and more people with Internet at home, however, there are still many who do not have and do not want to remain loyal to any fixed Internet operator. Thus, only for this period of school at home, you can have a hotspot by hiring a mobile service.
