MoRENet support Maren trains Network Engineers


The MoRENet counterpart Malawi National Research Network (Maren) held a training for technicians from 7 (seven) Malawi universities in Lilongwe from December 1 to 15, which was attended by instructors from Zambia and Mozambique being the last represented by Eng. Leonel Nhavene, Cyber Security Administrator at MoRENet.

 This Training was organized by the UbuntuNet Alliance and was intended to help Malawi University Engineers restructure their University Campus data network to align with best practices regarding Wireless Network Configuration (Wi-Fi) and education roaming services in the country.

A total of 7 (seven) institutions benefited from this training, namely: Mzuzu University, Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Malawi University of Science and Technology, Kamuzu College of Nursing, Chancellor College, Malawi School of Medicine and Polytechnic , 2 for each institution totaling 16 trained technicians.
